Breast reconstruction refers to the reconstruction of a breast that has lost its natural appearance and symmetry with the other breast following cancer surgery (mastectomy, quadrantectomy, nodulectomy). Dr. Rossati has been working for years now with Dr. Rigotti, the world’s leading expert in total breast reconstruction using fat grafting.
At accredited and affiliated facilities, reconstruction can be performed using fat grafts, over a number of sessions, allowing for the restoration of normal breast shape and symmetry and a recovery of sensitivity. This allows the patient to gradually regain her femininity and relationship with her body.
Results are evident from the first session, in terms of both recovery of skin sensitivity and softness and progressive symmetry. Following aggressive radiotherapy and chemotherapy or reconstructions with prostheses that sometimes disfigure the patient, lipofilling is able to restore tissue to “normal”, thus helping to resolve a series of related problems (pain, functional impairment and altered sensitivity).
