Effective, versatile and popular, with just a few injections, the botulinum toxin, or botox, can reduce and above all prevent those wrinkles caused by an excessive contraction of a number of facial muscles. Often used as an alternative to surgery to raise the tail of the eyebrows or the corners of the mouth, it can also be used as a biostimulant to improve the texture of the skin of the face and smooth the skin of the neck. Botox is also one of most widely used drugs for therapeutic purposes. It is very useful to reduce excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis), to alleviate the annoying problem of bruxism, also softening the jawline, and to improve the appearance of a number of pathological scars.
Within a few days of application, the face appears younger and fresher, and the skin rosier and – thanks to the sebum-regulating properties – less greasy. Sometimes the procedure needs to be touched up after a couple of weeks to stabilise the result.
