Breast lift, or mastopexy, is a cosmetic surgery procedure aimed at restoring the correct position of a sagging, drooping breast caused by age, weight loss, pregnancy or the removal of prostheses. The approach can also prove useful as a complement to a plastic surgery operation on the breast, because the insertion of a prosthesis alone is sometimes insufficient to fill and stretch the skin or lift the nipple. The operation, which requires a maximum of one night in hospital, is lighter than a breast reduction, and may also include the insertion of prostheses if the patient wishes to increase the volume of the breasts or to firm them.
The operation lifts and firms the breasts, boosting tone and sensuality, without altering their natural appearance and ensuring that the nipple and the areola is the same size and at the same height in both breasts.
