FACIAL TREATMENTS

Earlobe tear repair and earlobe reduction

General remarks regarding earlobe repair and reduction

Earlobe tear or splitting refers to the partial or complete opening of the lobe, generally caused by the prolonged wearing of heavy earrings or ear stretchers, or by trauma. This deformity can be corrected with a minor outpatient procedure. Skin reduction surgery can also be performed to correct lobes lengthened by the ageing process.

Results

Results are almost immediate. For the first few days, the patient will have to keep a dressing on the site, and will not be able to have the affected lobe pierced again for at least 6 months.

Alternative or combined treatments

  • to improve the appearance of an aged lobe, hyaluronic acid or lipofilling
